My beginnings were like most others with the notable exception that I was born in Montreal, Quebec. Yes, I am a Canadian. At the tender age of two, I was wisked across the Canadian border and into the USA. I was the oldest of four children, two brothers and one sister.

Growing up we moved quite abit and lived on both coasts. Separation from friends was always hard, but I learned to adapt. Everyone always though my dad was a travelling salesman or worked for the military, but he was not. Dad was just an engineer in the pulp and paper industry trying to provide for his family.

Ever since my yougest recollections I have loved to photograph and write. My first camera was the classic Brownie instamatic! I don't know if that was because of my sheer love for it, or if in fact I loved being able to capture and narrate the outcomes of my images and stories. I believe if we do it right we not only record a moment in time but also create a window to a deeper understanding of that particular moment. After all a life worth living is worth recording.
